Umbut Rotan, Dayaknese Typical Food in Kalimantan


Umbut Rattan (young Rattan) is one of the local food that is owned the Dayak people, especially from Central Kalimantan. In the Dayak Maanyan  language, Umbut Rattan known as uwut nang'e. Meanwhile, in a language known by the Dayak Ngaju it’s called Juhu Singkah. Umbut Rattan known by Dayak community because it is easy to obtain in the woods with no need to plant them first.

Bingka is one of the most favorite cake in Kalimantan. Bingka is a cake that is characteristic of Banjarese, South Kalimantan. It tastes very sweet, fatty, and soft. Bingka is one cake that is used in Banjar tradition to present 41 types of cakes for special events such as weddings. Although it can be found all year long, bingka the star in month of Ramadan as considered suitable fast breaking (buka puasa). 

Bingka is made of the following ingredients: flour, eggs, milk, sugar, and salt. As a prevalence, bingka baked with flower-shaped mold. There are various Flavor bingka like Tapai Bingka, Potato Bingka, Pumpkin Bingka, Pandanus Bingka, and etc..

Hi , readers must have been impatiently waiting for our posts . Don't need to bother  because soon I will share information to all of you , I will tell you about West Kalimantan traditional food. 

Culinary is one thing that is always sought after searching by the devotees , not rare to see a lot of places to eat along the edge of the road . People are racing to find a new culinary and certainly not disappointed their tongues  .No less competitive with modern food , traditional food also was still a hot topic that is always in searching . Indeed, in every city definitely has a traditional meal each different and certainly has prepared a place for the pemina to enjoy .But before you visit , there will be good if you know in advance what the traditional food of each region in Kalimantan . Let no time I will share the info for you're readers.

The first meal that I will discuss is the food that comes from West Kalimantan. Already very familiar to the public hearing of this food, even down to the country, hehe sorry maybe it's a bit overkill. Yes, but does so in reality. Moreover, the name if not Porridge Spicy. The food is very familiar to us. Spicy porridge is featured culinary Sambas Malays should taste the food lovers. Porridge spicy food has become very easy to be found not only in Sambas Singkawang, Bengkayang, Mempawah, and Pontianak. It turns spicy porridge is there also in the neighbor country, namely Sarawak, Malaysia.
