Garih Batanak, Boiled Salted Fish


Although the food is not very well known outside the region of southern Kalimantan, but the food is enough to enjoy doing some societies in South Kalimantan.

Not much explanation I can give of this food, because the food is just home-made meals and every housewife will probably be able to create the recipes more delicious and interesting than I described in this post.


Materials :
1 piece Salted Fish Haruan (Gabus)
2 eggs Duck Egg
2 pieces of tomatoes
1 piece Red Chili
1 piece Green Chili
3 pieces of Star fruit
3 cloves Shallots
2 cloves of garlic
2 pieces Lemongrass
Galangal (Laos)
700 ml water
1 packet small coconut milk instant
sugar
salt

How to make :
Clean the salted fish, cut in to medium pieces.
Garlic, Union and Star Fruit, slice them.
Slice red and green chili
Crush the galangal and lemongrass
Grated turmeric, then mix with grated coconut milk to be used as much as 2 cups.
Boil the milk and put the onion, chilli, galangal and lemongrass until boiling.
Add pieces of salted fish. Season with salt and sugar. Cook and stir until the fish is cooked.
When the sauce boil, break duck eggs one at a time (do not stir).
Let eggs to be cooked, stirring gently.
Ready to serve.
